Her career has spanned almost 50 years, and includes many notable successful ventures including designing for the legendary Madison Avenue Boutique Paraphernalia, with a stable of young talent, which included Mary Quant, Joel Schumacher and Betsy Johnson, designing dresses along with Liz Claiborne at Jonathan Logan, and as Design Director for the outerwear companies Braetan, Drizzle and Sanyo. Last November, Carol and her son Michael, launched North Fork Apparel, a collection of timeless, casual, well tailored pieces made of beautiful material that make you feel great when you wear them. The range is inspired by the relaxed ambiance of the North Fork of Long Island, a thirty-mile unspoiled haven of pristine beaches, wineries, orchards and farms. The North Fork is place where they have had a family home for over 30 years.

What is one piece of fashion or beauty advice?

Feel great in what you chose to wear. When clothing feels good on your body it shows in the way that you carry yourself.

carolcohencropWhen do you feel the most beautiful?

When I am surrounded by people I love doing things that I love doing. I had my first grandchild last November and he effortlessly lights up my life.

What advice would you give to a young girl on how to feel beautiful and confident?

Be true to your feelings and yourself. Beauty has many levels and finding their balance within you can only come from you.
