Everyone loves a little glamour at holiday time, and nothing says it better than lush, flirty lashes. But don’t be afraid of false lashes! It’s the easiest way to add special charm to your look, and make your face totally “party-ready”. False lashes now come in so many styles, and they are becoming the norm for weddings, parties and special occasions. I know many women who wear them every day, to avoid applying mascara constantly. False lashes can look so real, and they even come in brown for blondes or anyone desiring a more natural look. With a bit of practice, you can become an expert in popping them on in just a few minutes. Try the half-lash style for a flirty lift at outer corners of the eyes. Or a double-row of lashes for a maxxed out fashion statement. Check out the amazing selection at Sally’s Beauty Supply stores, or www.SallyBeauty.com.

Here are a few tips to give you confidence in choosing and wearing false lashes:

  1. Buy the lash glue in “Dark” instead of “Clear” – it helps hide the edge of the lash for a seamless look.
  2. Don’t forget to trim them to fit the length of your eye; do it gently with cuticle scissors. Do a “dry fit” on each eye to make sure the false lashes are not too long for you.
  3. If you decide to also wear mascara, make sure you apply it BEFORE you apply your false lashes, to keep them clean.

The Application Method:

Squeeze a small spot of glue out onto a work surface (I use my palette). Use a toothpick or end of any disposable applicator to apply a thin strip of glue to the lash base. Apply lash immediately to your eyelid as close to the base of your own lashes as possible, and hold down for 15 seconds, especially at the ends. Slowly open eye, and untangle any of your own lashes that may be stuck together. Repeat for other eye. If one end lifts up a bit, just touch it with a tiny dot of glue and hold down again.

Wishing you a glamorous holiday!
